I started my programming journey with cs50, I was working barely above minimum wage at a grocery store, almost 30, and I had no computer skills. I still don't have a degree, but I'm not working at a grocery store anymore and I have a 6 figure salary. All thanks to this free course. Get a degree if you want it, but this field isn't law or medicine where degrees are often legally required. In computer science, competency is 👑.

cs50 is amazing, after years of trying to learn from youtube, David has hand over fist in my first week into this program taught me SOOO much. They take the time to actually explain everything. Its great to just get your hand into the code LOVE

For any beginners I’d suggest them to take
*CS50 introduction to programming*
*python for everyone by dr chuck*
*the odin project* or *django for everyone*
*data structures and algorithms mit open courseware*

These courses will help you achieve the knowledge you need to get an entry level job.

I wouldn’t care about the degree as much if I’m starting but to understand how this field works. I’m about to finish my BS in computer science but a lot of dots to connect still. CS50 helps to connect those dots.

I am currently pursuing CS in a college that is not so good in teaching that's coz I wasted my 10+2nd year in pandemic and did pretty bad in entrance examination so I ended up in this college, i am trying to watch CS50 classes for knowledge in programming so that I can improve my skills and by the time I give my interview for placement i hope i get selected

Degrees don't matter at all. it's just skills and knowledge that matter. You must be able to prove your skills and knowledge to get the job you desire.

It's also good if you have to wait for uni to start

my local degree program feels like a kindergarden compared to cs50... 3 months in and i barely learnt anything...
just the first two weeks of cs50 already teach me as much, if not more...

Getting knowledge online... Reading a book... Practicing... Is the best way to learn a skill...

I'm about to enter a more traditional CS degree, but I've been working on cs50 in the meantime, I feel like a regular degree is going to be a breeze in comparison, but it'll be hard to match cs50's awesome quality of teaching.

I am going to college this year for bachelors in computer science. But my college hasn't started their classes yet. Should i take CS50?
