Meds work for me. I need them to have a good life. I’m able take care of my family better and be present in the life we have. I was not ok off the meds and I tried keto for three months and nothing happened positive.

I am so glad it's helping you to lower or stop the medication. I'm glad that you are able to have a normal life. Unfortunately many people with schizophrenia don't have the discipline you have and some of them don't even accept the diagnosis and hell breaks. Your journey is very valuable, it demonstrates that there's a healthier alternative.

Meds did not work for me until i was put on Clozapine. After that moment my life started to change for the better, my hallucinations became more dull and voices became quieter for longer periods of time. My thoughts became more organized and my friends and family started to see that I was doing much better and became more like the person I was before. Besides all the improvement I still struggle day to day with my symptoms but alot less than I did before.

Im glad you share your experiences it helps me feel more comfortable for me (and many others) to share my experience.

For me over the years I have come to the conclusion that I cannot live long term without meds primarily because I have unstable mood but more importantly because I an unable to tell when I’m becoming unwell (I suffer from mania and psychosis). For me, medication insulates me from manic highs and from psychosis and gives me a greater opportunity to intervene in the onset of illness.

Having said that, medication does have its unwanted effects. They make me feel sluggish and slightly sedated. The weight gain is really bad. The blunting of mood is noticeable and I have difficulty in enjoying things (anhedonia).

My personal approach to all this is that taking some medication and accepting t he downsides along with the benefits is the LEAST BAF OPTION of all the bad options which are available. However…. In taking responsibility for my condition and in doing this, I feel empowered to manage my condition and that sense of empowerment is the single greatest benefit to my life.

Have watched you channel for a while now and love ❤️ your content and find it thought provoking and very helpful. Keep going and best of luck for the future 🖖😎❤️👌

Randomly found this video after I used to follow you years ago, making looking for some community as I felt “crazy” (never diagnosed with schizophrenia but had such a terrible eating disorder I’d become fully delusional and was having episodes of mania followed by severe depression). Obviously the causes were different and will vary for any mental illness, but I’m returning to this having been symptom free for 18 months (since getting pregnant with my son) and I’m sooo glad you’re doing well and love that you’re sharing this to show there are alternatives. You’re in no way judgmental, but it just shows in your journey you wanted more and found a way to get it and I think soo many people need to hear that because, for some, being on meds forever or needing to be in and out of treatment just isn’t what they want out of life. Thanks for sharing!

If I didn’t have these meds I would be reliving abuse and fear over and over again. I am so hopeful for my medicine. Just started 2 days ago

If only medical professionals were more honest about the fact they probably cause more damage with keeping many people drugged up for life instead of trying to help them to feel more normal and living life 😢so glad ur off those damaging drugs, my son is also enduring ur journey and im fighting to get him off meds because hes sicker on them and as they wear off hes better. Thanks for ur bravery and honesty and for sharing ur journey on here to support people take care

As a chronic psychotic and heavy schizophrenic person myself. I've learned that I can't live without. That is for each and every one different of course. If you can live without, why not? After a long search of trying out different anti psychotic meds I'm on 750 mg of Clozapine and 15 mg Abilify every day. Not so many symptoms, which is great. For more info. check out my vlogs I put online about it. I do think you're looking great! Sometimes I'm watching your movies. Moving in and out of your illness throughout the years. You're a strong person. Gr. EJ

Good for you! Unfortunately I bet you'll get some hate because alot of people now a days are so strongly into ~you have to take your meds- but you know what! Take your meds if that's what works for you- but that isn't the most optimal treatment for everyone. I have had an anxiety disorder that I have treated with running 3x a week, so I kind of understand. Especially because.. honestly I don't feel like I have a disorder now? I'm happy to hear the keto works so well for you ❤

Great for you. Truly beautiful development. Very fascinating journey. That I like to follow.
However. A word of caution. Never forget that the antipsychotics got you out of very deep psychosis when your system was completely derailed. So, it is only because of them that you are able to take this step now.
Adding to that. Your message can be very dangerous for psychotic people who experience anosognosia. They will see this as proof that psychiatrists are up to no good. And that antipsychotics should be avoided. Even when they are out of their mind from psychosis. So, I am afraid your message will feed their paranoia. I think it is a more responsible approach to at least give some credits in your messages to the antipsychotics that you have been given when you were completely out of this world.

Thank you for sharing your honest experience. The people discrediting this seem to be unaware of the fact that you’ve been doing this with real medical supervision, and you have learned to strictly keep to this diet as a form of long term medical intervention. As long as you are taking the right steps for *your* situation to keep yourself healthy we should be supporting your journey. I’m the daughter of a registered nurse with disabilities myself. Everyone is different. Everyone.
