I think this needs to be said..

At the time of recording this video I was trying out 3 different Bipolar medications - Latuda, Rexulti & Abilify. The diagnosis was brand new for me & I wanted to make a video to help myself not feel so alone, and maybe provide some value to others who were going through the same thing.

ADHD, Bipolar, Autism - all of these symptoms overlap each other. There is no one specific case for everyone & everyone’s experience with these disorders are different.

Please do not watch this video & say “oh I guess I’m bipolar now” - that was not my intention. My intention was to express what I was feeling when I got the diagnosis & to see if other people may have been experiencing the same thing.

Yes, these could be symptoms, but it all depends on you and your life. I was at a place where these things were heavily affecting my everyday life to the point where I was not able to function. If that is not you, then you’re good! 😊

As a diagnosed bipolar person, these can be true for "normal" people and other disorders. These are too vague for a diagnosis.

I got diagnosed with bipolar 2 back in 2009. I had been misdiagnosed with anxiety and severe depression by my GP and was prescribed medications to treat those conditions, which made my bipolar disorder SIGNIFICANTLY worse. I had been on a wait list to see a psychiatrist for over a year at that point, my mental health kept declining until I woke up one day and just decided “I’m done”. I cleaned my room top to bottom, removed all the art from my walls, I packed all my clothes from my dresser and closet into black trash bags, I packed all the books on my shelves into boxes along with everything else. I took the sheets and blankets and pillow cases off my bed and washed them, dried them and folded them and put them in the trash bags too. I stacked all the boxes and bags in my closet. My Dad thought maybe I was just reorganizing my bedroom, as he was leaving the house to run an errand I hugged him and told him I loved him, and then I went to the upstairs bathroom, locked the door, I took a large quantity of a specific substance and took a bath, it was 3 pm.

I’m not going to go into all the details, but my Dad got hit with “a really bad feeling” when he was about two blocks away from the house, he turned around and came home. I woke up in a hospital about two weeks later, I had been in a medically induced coma. I was finally moved up the waiting list and was paired with a psychiatrist, and after some testing I was diagnosed with type 2 bipolar disorder. It took a long time to figure out the right meds and the correct dosages, and I had slip ups, and some in patient stays, but I haven’t had a significant manic or depressive episode(or even really mood swings) since 2012. It took allot of work, allot of patience, allot of consistency, allot of trust, allot of love, allot of sheer will to get to where I am today, but it was worth it.

As someone with diagnosed bipolar, These are to vague to say that it’s from being bipolar and really only the last one holds true. This will make people want to self diagnose because everyone has experience the rest and now they will think it’s from a severe mental illness when it may not be the case at all.

This can be true for unipolar depression, adhd, BPD, anxiety disorders, PMDD, not really good indicators of bipolar.

As someone with ADHD and autistic symptoms this is painfully true 😭🖐🏻

literally none of these qualities someone as bipolar. even though most of these can be present in someone with it, it can also be present in someone with anxiety. please stop encouraging people to turn to tiktok for a diagnosis instead of a dr (i also have bipolar)

This is true, but this can resonate with 99% of humans.... Easist way to tell if ur bipolar 101, #1: More than 1 person is telling you that you may have it. #2 A doctor or therapist tells you. ... the end

My character trait that ended up being a symptom was extreme paranoia 😂😂 thought people were following me everywhere. I just figured that was normal. I would even get extremely upset at the people at walmart that I thought were "following me." Yeaaaah it got worse hallucinating and shit but thank god for antipsychotics 😂

One of my best friends is bipolar. He’s the most genuine, sweetest, funniest guys I’ve ever met. Love seeing him happy :)

I have all of these n I have BPD. Bipolar was a frequent topic throughout the onset of my symptoms but in the end it turns out it was borderline personality disorder. Nothing can determine whether you have BP or not apart from continuous tests and TRUSTED, qualified psychiatrists (they can only do that if you give them input and something to work with, it takes two).

Oh fuck. That’s why my therapist instantly diagnosed me.

These are very similar symptoms of CPTSD as well, be careful self diagnosing yourself because I thought I had BPD and OCD but realized that the CPTSD was the cause of all of these problems now that I’m in therapy. I’ve realized that my childhood is more traumatic than I thought

I think one of the signs is a deep depression that doesn't make "sense". Also, being depressed in cycles. You can predict the timing.

This. I am the same diagnoses and am so glad there are other people who feel the same. Thank you for making this less taboo.
