What is legitimate Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) and when is just a guise for steroid use? There can be a very fine line between testosterone replacement (TRT) and medically supervised steroid use for the purpose of enhancement. I sat down with my good friend Dr. Brett Osborn in West Palm, FL, who is a neurosurgeon and an expert in endocrinology, to get his opinion.

And any health problems you've experienced? I am just commenting for the algorithm as more people would benefit from watching this. Thank you for that. I have a few people I will share this with. I am a personal trainer and primarily train seniors, but have some younger ones. One of my clients (76 y/o) has a cousin that is on TRT (do not know if it is prescribed), and now he wants to look like his cousin who is 2 years younger than him. I told him to talk with his doctor as that is outside of my scope. Only a doctor would be able to determine if it is the right thing for him.

I suspect in the field I am in, far too many people are slanging PED’s left and right. I have never seen so many 16 and 17 y/o’s looking like freaks of nature. This influence really does a number on 60+ y/o when they expect to look like a 20 y/o.

Excellent discussion, James! I've been curious about this topic, though I am taking a "wait and see approach" since I'm still some years away from the age and stage of doctor-approved TRT. There's just so much weird stuff out there: peptides, SARMs, prohormones, "research" drugs, etc., etc. I enjoyed hearing a doctor's knowledge about this topic, and I hope you continue this kind of series to help inform us.

Good video. I wouldn't agree about a certain age to begin TRT. I started at 25 and I was below 300ng/dL and plenty of low T symptoms. Im 40 now. TRT isn't about treating numbers, including age. Lots of info available about modern men, even in their 20s having low T issues. All the side effects he mentioned are manageable by donating blood, clean diet, and taking an ARB. One issue that really is a bunch of BS, is how a young female can get test to transgender, but if you want some to better your life as a man, it's looked down upon due to toxic masculinity. Never forget who signed into law the Steroid Control Act of 1990. FJB.

This doctor is spot on with his clarifications of testosterone and hormone therapy . He is a true doctor who cares about his patients and prevents future problems while on therapy. I wish other doctors were the same way .
