Once my math teacher called us, and I quote “stupid slugs who would never go to college” because we didn’t want to talk on the zoom call.

I agree with “even if you’re exceptionally bright, you may fall behind other students because they had better teachers”

They completely neglected to mention verbally abusing and demeaning their students.

I DID IT! Now I’ll make a list for you guys:
1. They are judgmental 0:47
2. They’re unavailable 1:32
3. They grade slowly 2:09
4. They play favorites 2:41
5. Your class underperforms 3:16
6. They oversimplify 3:59

I recommend watching for more. Sending love from quarantine. You’ve got this! 💛💛

I totally believe that a teacher makes or breaks your love for a subject or hobby. My favorite subject tends to always be the one with the best teacher, and my friends agree. imo, that’s a dangerous sort of pattern considering we’re all trying to chase down career paths, and are falling in and out of interest of things we need for college.

You know you have a strict teacher when everyone has fun until they show up

- not helping you
- not doing anything about bullying

As someone who is studying for working as a teacher, I can say that most of the "new ways" of teaching take all of this into consideration. It's really important to understand that we are a big part of children's life and we should care and protect them

My teacher calls everyone by the name of the fruits that they like, and my teacher calls me an avocado, she's always responsible and tries to grade as quickly as she can. She always give feedback on something I need to work on but at the same time gives me courage and support. When anyone needs help, she always got their back. She even allows us to play Among Us after the lesson is done! She is so kind and sweet, one time I told my teacher that I liked to draw. And so she mailed me drawing supplies, a sketching book, and avocado headphones! I couldn't thank her enough, and she doesn't do this just for me, she did all of this to her other students as well.

Thank you for your care, kindness, and support, Ms. Metzger! 💕

4, currently I have a _horrible_ math teacher and she is why I don’t enjoy school. I tried to give her chances, tried to believe she could be nice, but she yelled at me for not finishing my work and acted as if she had forgotten all about the 504 plan I have(basically I’m am legally obligated to be given extra time due a reason that varies by person of either mental issues, injury. etc.) that I suffered much to get her to understand. She has been working at my school for generations probably at this so she’s a little more “old school” (as some would say) and teaches her way and her way only, I have OCD(obsessive compulsive disorder) and depression so this has been *anything but* easy for me, I’m the type of person who also doesn’t mind others talk down on me as much as they want *ESPECIALLY* adults, but she has done it so *many* times to an extreme extent to where I could hardly take it anymore and now just try to put up with her because my parents won’t allow me to change classes because I’m in honors and she is the _only_ honors. I don’t really deserve any pity but everyone else in the class does because she’s like this to everyone, and the worst part is is that we have her for 3 years straight. She doesn’t necessarily have “favorites” but she yells at some more than others. Anyways, at this rate I could make a whole book about all she does so I’ll stop it here now, thank you so so much for reading all of this it is more than appreciated, this was kinda just me ranting so thanks for taking some time to see me basically rant about an old lady and have a great day/night! :)

my textiles teacher in year 7 bullied me. she would give me detentions for no reason, insult me, say that i wasn’t trying, i was useless and would never amount to much, accused me of things i hadn’t done and she screamed at me for having seizures in her lesson. She basically confirmed all my insecurities.

i don’t hate people, but she’s one of the few people who i wouldn’t care if they died

also, i had a teacher who basically watched me get sexually assaulted without even attempting to stop it.

I had a bad teacher and it ruined my self-esteem for years. I was humiliated and the emotional scar still remains from it. It made me realize that mentors can be a factor on what makes/breaks a growing individual.

Hopefully no one will experience what I did.

Sign of a bad teacher: They replace actual teaching with homework, and/or rely on homework to teach students. Homework with a good teacher should be graded, or at the very least, as minimal as possible, to ensure practice & allowing the student to have free time.
