I did a whole lodge (large cabin) with the same Polyurethane. Your 100% right about the haze in water based poly. Its not supposed to do that. I experimented with many ways to apply it, but still couldn't stop the haze. The boards I was using were stained first, maybe that's got something to do with it. Too bad tho cause the lodge was almost unbearable with poly smell. Even through a really good resporator. It took 2 months with constant airflow to get the smell out. But it's floor to ceiling wood. With a custom table, couch, etc. We easily used 50 gallons each of poly and stain. Sorry for rambling, but your experience is what I went through. So, I had to say mine.

I love it too. I bought the same one and I’m about to use it on my clay molds ❤

I would recommend using waterbased gloss finish in polyacrlyic, youll definitely get a crystal clear finish, the satin or semi in the waterbased makes it foggy . Only the gloss is truly clear (Polyacrlyic)
** for exterior door only use spar urethane, for crystal clear everything use gloss only . Any oil based product from clears to white pigmented coats, will always yellow

Go to Sherwin Williams and ask for laquier seeler and clear coat that's the best thing to put on wood makes it look like literally glass smell strong for few hours only dryes almost instantly

Used Minwax (poly with stain) so easy to apply. Loved it, however 20 years fast forward my woodworking cabinets are yellow and orange color now I don't like them and can't afford to have them professionally strip down and start over

The oil based gives an amber color, the “white” water based dries clear

Oil based is always better than water based

I used that polycrylic one time and i hate it. As far as paint and stains and finishes, water based= not as good. Every single time

water based glosses are useless. the only good thing is that you can wash your brush out with water. other than that, do not buy.
