The most important skill in painting a car is learning to fix your mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes. It’s learning to correct them that makes you a skilled professional.

We brought in a DIYer to help up paint this datsun project, we had a run and some orange peel, but by the end it was looking PERFECT! Full video coming soon!

Best way to solve runouts like this - just scrape them using new paper cutter blade. Broke it in the middle and wrap paper-tape on two sides, left opened sharp edge in the middle and scrape. Use 2000 grit sandpaper around and polish after. Using this method you will not destroy clearcoat texture

Being experienced body man starting in the 70s it's not a mistake it's a learning experience remember remember both shops small shops don't have the perfect environment to make the outcome always perfect so good body man and painter learn to improvise tricks of the trade it's The end result accounts

If there is sufficient clear, the run and the orange peal will go away. Mirror finish.

Personally I would have been fine with how it was. Unless it’s a brand new premium car. But you did a great job restoring the paint of this one!

I hope it was cured. If it wasn't there will be a low spot there when it does.
