#Shorts tutorial to learn how to move into virabhadrasana 1 or warrior 1 pose.
From the top of your mat take a big step back with your right foot. Position your right toes to point towards the top right corner of your mat, or about 45 degrees (this will take tension off of the knee).
Rotate your hips, chest and shoulders towards the top of your mat. Inhale and sweep your arms up towards the sky. Exhale and bend the left leg, stacking the knee over the ankle. Tuck the tailbone slightly. Lift the chin and look at the space between or hands, or keep your gaze straight ahead. Continue to breathe as you hold this posture. Switch sides after 4-6 breaths.
