1970 Pink Floyd performance for San Francisco public TV Station KQED.

My father, Ray Linn (trumpet), did a gig with Pink Floyd around this date in San Francisco. Local 47 Musician's Union in Los Angeles recruited players to fly up to "Frisco" to rehearse one weekend and then play the following weekend in an orchestra.. When dad first came back he asked us, "Boys, have you ever heard of Pink Floyd?" My brothers and I exclaimed, YEAHHHH!". Dad, who hated rock and roll and thought it was "music to eat people by", said that PF were fine musicians and treated the orchestra respectfully. When the Orchestra members asked what were they supposed to wear at the gig, PF responded "wear whatever you like". Usually orchestras/symphonies wear black tie attire.

First time I heard Atom Heart was at the Bath festival and was blown away. I could not believe David Gilmour's guitar and how the choir took me up with them. Later in Brighton

Great stripped-down version of this beautiful piece. The original was quite an accomplishment but they manage to flesh out the horn, string and choral sections nicely. Rick and Dave are particularly great.
