The 60's and 70's was the greatest era for music. Artists could almost anything they wanted and the record companies were run by people with a musical background...and the people making records were actual musicians...glad I was there for it.

I was there too. Went with my brother. I was 14 at the time. A lifelong Floyd fan.

I was there. It was a beautiful day, the air was warm and pleasant, the music was just fucking incredible. I remember Kevin Ayers and Edgar Broughton were fun. The Floyd were still playing clubs and universities at this time, this was the biggest show they'd ever done in the UK. These were the days when it meant something to see new music like this just appear out of nowhere. The sound was actually fantastic, considering the sound systems of the time. The recording doesn't capture it but it does capture something of the atmosphere. I remember they began with Embryo, then I remember Careful with axe Eugene, Set the Controls for the heart of the sun followed by Atom Heart Mother - which didn't actually have a title at that point. It was a beautiful day, it was a beautiful experience. Cheers for posting this.

I've watched this video numerous time, and I'm still struck by the beautiful women crouching, near the stage, silent.... Grooving on the vibe.

I worked as a short-order chef in the Milk Bar in Llandudno. One evening at the end of my shift, my mates rocked up in an old Commer Van with a mattress in the back. I took off my apron, handed in my notice and we drove through the night to London. The next afternoon we were in a huge crowd in Hyde Park to see/hear Pink Floyd perform Atom Heart Mother with a classical orchestra and choir. They blew the sky away! Also vividly remember Kevin Ayres' 'We don't serve starangers in Blue Suede Shoes', Roy Harper 'I Hate The White Man' and Edgar Broughton band leading us all in rousing chorus of 'Out Demons Out'.

I sure did enjoy that day. Even the coppers were smiling. Why wouldn't they be? Such vibes. Best pink Floyd ever.

This is incredible! Didn’t know this footage existed. You can hear the recording bend, and the band miss a cpl notes. But it’s from 1970. This is their most underrated long haul album.

I reckon the camera man wasn't conscious of what he was recording: one of the Pink Floyd's masterpieces, with the 4 members and orchestra playing live and in their highest performance pre DSOTM. This video is timeless

In October 1970 I was 15 and a group of us were allowed to play records in the music room at school during the lunch break.
Someone brought in this just released LP with a cow on the front cover and I was hooked.
Didn't get to see them live for another 3 years at Earls Court, though.

In my book, the less they talk, the better the music is. Pink Floyd are musical gods that we were blessed to have. This is so amazing that words cant describe the emotions it makes me feel. There is music, then there is PF.

This performance is special because it will NEVER be replicated. There will never be a chance to perform this sound in the same way. It was a nightmare start to finish, even performing it was a disaster for most involved. It's probably the most complicated piece of music from the last 60 years. I love the chaos and lack of direction. It makes the whole piece so much more endearing. Truly a haunting piece that will stay in the early 70s forever.

I really love this tune. Simple message, complex delivery. You just can't beat it.

I just found this live version of this song I have loved for years. Superlatives do not do it justice. I thought this did not exist. An amazing part of history.
