SEARCHABLE 🔎 Dropdowns in Excel #shorts

Показать описание
Finally we get SEARCHABLE drop down lists in Microsoft Excel WITHOUT writing complex formulas. There's no VBA, no filter function. The autocomplete functionality is there by default. The ability to search for values in data validation was released on the web (online) version of Excel last year but now it's available in the Excel desktop version as well. To search the drop-down list you just have to start typing in the cell. A list of search results will appear and filtered down as you type. It also automatically suppresses empty cells.

You can use this to create multiple searchable drop-down lists or data validations in a single sheet.

Availability: This update is currently available on the Beta Channel for Office 365 Insiders for Windows and Mac.

So glad this feature has finally been implemented! We did have to wait a rather long time though.

That's fantastic, without an addon and that function simply becoming part of a validation list is definitely the way to go

Another great video ! It would be useful to know which Excel version/build contains this new feature. I mean File menu - Account - About Excel - there we can find version and build information.

If you use your listname you dont have to take a couple of extra rows in your range. It will be dynamic.

Why are these features not in my O365? I updated my O365 to Version 2203 Build 16.0.15028.20218
but this update was not in it.

Why leaving blank lines ? I formate my list as table, that way it's always dynamic...

I'm sorry, but you're wrong, Leila. The tool is still not available in some Beta versions of Insider! I have version 2206 (Czech, Beta Channel Insider). Switching to English (environment language, spelling) will not help either. I also left the forum on this topic. They make a fool of us.
