The sad thing about Berserk 2016 is that it's a good story executed poorly. True, one could argue that Berserk never had an adaptation that did the source material justice. I'd say that previous adaptations of Berserk are like watching Hamlet be performed with marionettes, whereas Berserk 2016 is like watching Berserk be performed with marionettes by someone who does not know how to use marionettes.
