This happened to me too. I started sitting in front of the library at my highschool during my sophomore year. By the time it was my senior year I had a dozen kids sitting hanging out with me outside instead of sitting inside the boring cafeteria.

yep same here lol. had group of guys i sat with every day. before eating lunch together we hardly knew each other. afterwords we were all friends lol. nerds "problem" kids 🤣 quite a mixture.

Same, I used to want to fit in as well trying to be someone else in High School so I could impress everyone. At the end I decided to sit with two genuine friends I had in one corner where there was a couple couches. Slowly, by junior year many people started to sit around us to the point that we created a large group of friends.

I graduated in 2012 and I somewhat did the same thing (I sat with the lunch ladies) but eventually people were intrigued by that and wanted to get to know me

Just talk to people that want to talk. Don’t force a conversation if someone’s too shy. Just find your group and stick with them

I was very lucky to always have at least one friend ever year that would let me sit with their circle of friends. Their friends would always treat me like shit but I didn’t want to sit alone. I basically faked my way through high school that way. Attaching myself to a group that didn’t accept me but let it slide cause I was good friends with one of their own.
