I think you took three of his stories and mixed them together.

He wasn’t 285. He was already a seal when he went through the 100 mile run. He was obviously a seal at that point bc he was honoring his seal friends. U think a seal would be 285? lol he was already in good shape at this point. Just not 100 mile running shape lol. Crazy impressive but a bit over exaggerated

Goggins was weighting five tons and in five days he has ran twenty times around the planet. His eyes blowed up, but he continued running using helping whispers of birds and fishes around him. That story really motivates me

He started the race at 285 lbs, and at the video of the end of the race, he looked under 200 lbs. This guy sure can tell a story.

My favorite story about David Goggins was when he was going to run a race to raise money for his fallen friends. But the race was 50 morbillion miles and he was only given 2 seconds notification. At the time, he still weighed over 300 lbs. But he shows up to the race after making it through Ranger School with nothing but a water, some chair, an old pair of crackers, and a box of running shoes. He makes it to mile 2 and he’s pissing kidneys and bleeding shit. So he duct tapes his legs to pass his third hell week then finishes the race, tosses the boat with the instructor in it, and divorces his wife. Truly an inspiration

"My favorite story about Goggins is actually a collection of separate events and timelines that I mushed together"

Then he chopped his broken feet off with a piece of flint he found in the dirt and carried them the 19 miles he had left and then sewed them back together with a nail and a few strands of hair a lady passing by gave him. True story bro 😎

You forgot that he also carried his wife on his back last 10 miles.

David Goggins was born in the dead of winter 1925 on a homestead in the backwoods of Montana.

The evening of his birth, he walked 18 miles through snow and ice to the general store in town and purchased 3 pounds of salt-cured pork and a pack of cigarettes.

After returning home, he cooked the pork for his mother, still recovering from labor, then proceeded to chop firewood into the night to keep the fire warm for her.

By that point having smoked nearly the entire pack of cigarettes, he gave the final remaining cigarette to his older sister, Constance.

It's so crazy how the human body will keep going once the mind has made its self up. Truly inspirational story! I remember reading this in his book Can't Hurt Me

The thing about this story, as much as it can be an inspiration to some. You don't hear about the guys who pushed themselves like that and died, some people get lucky and push themselves that far and live, but when they push others to do the same they forget they're the exception.
