While their purposes may be similar, the RAV4 and Camry take vastly different approaches! Today I am going to forget about the Honda Accord and Subaru Forester and focus on the big question of Camry or RAV4?

I have back problems and getting in and out of a Camry is more of a challenge than a rav 4

I purchased a 2023 Camry SE and and I am thrilled with it. I am 69 years old and my previous ride was a 2011 FJ Cruiser which I had great service from, but I was looking for something with better fuel mileage and a little more comfort. I am getting 32 mpg combined and the motor is not even broken in yet.

I test drove both cars and picked the Camry because it is more quiet and refined.

I own a 2022 Camry and have test driven RAV4's several times - I can tell you without any doubt that the Camry has a more sophisticated comfortable better handling drive with slightly less road noise. The main thing I give to the RAV4 is that it sits higher and has much better ground clearance for those awkward driveways. Also the Camry has longer more comfortable seats (i.e., more bottom and thigh support). But the smoothness of the Camry on the road is what sold me over the RAV4. The RAV4 has a bit of a "PRADO feel", that is, it sways you from side to side more with road undulations and with a more stiff feel. I personally feel the RAV4 for its high price is over-rated! And the Camry with its lower price is under-rated. The only mistake Toyota made with the Camry was to lower it too low over the previous model Camry's, it needs to be about another 1.5" higher with the ground clearance. Or, shock, horror, bring out a Camry Cross-Over (SUV) version like the Corolla Cross

Excellent Video well detailed with pricing,
Cubic feet per vehicle, MPG, 0 - 60 acceleration times engine sizes 4 Cyl
VS 6Cyl and trim levels.
You covered it all for your viewers. You took your time presenting the information. Honestly this is one of the best new car comparison Video's that I have ever seen.
Thank You

Thank you for comparing the Camry sedan and the Rav4 SUV. The Camry’s standard 17” wheels make for better ride comfort compared to the 18” and 19” options. I also like how you noted hybrid battery replacement for long term ownership. It’s something that reviewers almost always omit.

I bought a 2024 Toyota Camry LE with the convenience package and blind spot monitoring package. We are a family of 3 and the Camry feels so spacious plus we got an amazing deal compared to the RAV4. I was extremely surprised how quiet it is and how comfortable it is.

Love this! I wanted the Rav 4 but it was too expensive $70 a month more than the Camry ... so got a basic Camry LE. Thank you for pointing out the hybrid's extra costs no one talks about that.

Very informative video…we are driving a 12 year old Camry & will likely stick with
it instead of a Rav4 when purchasing a new one. Our Camrys in the past lasted
13 and 14 years so we hope the new models have the same longevity.

For me the Rav4 is so much easier to get in and out of that I prefer it. I agree the Camry is a more refined interior.

Thanks for your detailed information. We will go with the Camry LE, for the reasons you stated, plus it will give more mileage for the gas model as compared a Gas RAV4 and also is going to cost less between the two LEs

Much as I like Toyota, their seemingly unaddressed problems with hybrid cable junction corrosion on hybrid vehicles would prevent me from purchasing one. Love that they still make a V-6 Camry. I would seriously consider a gas only Rav4 as my next vehicle. Great summary chock full of useful information as usual, Tyler.

CUVs need firmer suspensions to make up for the higher CG. The otherwise equivalent sedan will always handle better while still maintaining a better ride quality. (Low CG allows for a softer suspension without sacrificing handling)

Your theory about why the hybrids have more oomf at the starting line isn't far off. Electric motors achieve 100% of the power output for a given input of electricity, immediately.
Whereas gas motors, for a given gas input, don't reach their peak power output for a couple extra seconds.

In 2019 I cross shopped a top end rav4 limited fully loaded vs a fully loaded Camry XSE v6 both for 40K. The Camry is a no brianer. It’s more refined much more luxurious and much faster. And it sounds way better whereas the rav4 even at that price still gets a noisy 4 cylinder

I have a 2019 camry SE that's about to get paid off, and I want a Rav4. Merely for cargo space, optional tow hitch for my bike, and it seems more family friendly. The camry is hard getting into compared to the Rav4.

Would the rav4 be more safe in a crash compared to the Camry
