5:27 My driving instructor made me change my method of keeping my heel OFF the floor during clutch control, and made me instead keep it on the floor, resulting in bad clutch control which she then would constantly scold me for… :/

My Car driving test is finally booked for 12:28pm on Friday 20 September 2024 at Mitcham (London)
Let’s hope nothing happens to my test slot.. i still have bad experiences in taking a uk driving test.😢
i only gotten the confirmation email at 6.54 am 😂
i was so confused on where this was.😅
Thought i given wrong email for example.
It’s a massive relief to have a test date in as my phone isn’t allowed to book a test slot.😮

Good video on clutch control, on explaining for the viewers how the clutch works which is what many learners can struggle with

You seen my comments here and there Chris..
i should pass this time with my knowledge and experience.

Thank you for your explanations in this video.

sitting in traffic on an uphill is the one time I regret buying a manual car lol. It happens pretty infrequently though, but when it does I can feel my clutch crying for mercy because I starts to get unhappy after prolonged periods in a traffic jam.

Although moving along in traffic didnt cause a serious problem with me, I found it stressful and annoying to deal with as I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do both on the road and with my feet. Mainly when traffic is edging forward like every couple seconds, or constantly edging forward. Are you supposed to / have to also move forward, even though you are only moving by like half or a metre along? Why cant you just sit there with the handbrake until the traffic actually clears then move? The only reason I can think of is so that 1). maybe you will be able to pass through a set of lights if you did edge forward or 2). to reduce the amount of space being taken up by traffic behind i.e so no junctions or other road users are affected. It's more annoying to manage when on a hill because you have to use gas to not roll back, but not too much so you hit the car infront, and doing that multiple times, essentially moving off like 5 times in a row, is super stressful to not stall and also to not hit the car in front. Sorry for the rant

So many people say holding/riding the clutch at the biting point too much burns out the clutch, but it is the only way to move slowly in traffic? Is smoking up your clutch just something you have to accept if you live in a high-traffic area?

Im having my test in like 2 weeks.I was told on a hill start you press the clutch and brake and then the parking brake up.Then you find biting point while still on the brake. Then put the parking brake down and remove your foot off the brake and put a little gas and keep your feet steady until you move off.But you saying something else. Will both work?
