I was in a band for almost a year, and my lead guitarist showed me how to roll up speaker cables this same exact way. He said it put way less strain on them. Little did I know he accidentally taught me how to correctly roll up hoses as well!! Lol!!

After spending about 10 minutes out in the yard I just threw it down, through my arms up in the air and came inside to find a video. Going to head back outside and see if this works 😂

A sailor pointed out to me that this method could lead to an unwanted clove hitch binding on something caught in the middle (and pulling it overboard). Nevertheless, this is how I store most hoses and cables.

I feel for all of you struggling to learn this. Tried showing an employee, and they just couldn't grasp the mechanics. Naturally I had others do the coiling from then on.

I learned how to roll hoses like this many years ago on a construction site.
They called it a fireman's roll. But I have never seen a fireman use a round hose. They always use a flat fabric hose that won't catch fire or melt.

I shared your video with some RVers. Hopefully they'll get some use out of it too.
