We can position the palms in different ways - so some muscle groups will engage more, and some less, and we will "hit" the muscles under different angles. When performing narrow push-ups triceps participate more (though the chest is still working hard). But here the advantage is in shoulders being shielded by the narrow positioning if the palms. Wide push-ups - unlike the narrow one – it has a smaller range of movement, chests are mushmore activated, and triceps much less. The only problem is that when performing a wide push-up shoulders are less protected, and those who have shoulder pain should skip this exercise. If you do a large number of repetitions, it would be ideal to change the position from a narrow to a wide push-up. Diagonal push-up is also one of the recommended versions
