Today we will be looking at the through the eyes of NASA's New Horizons spacecraft as it flew into the Kuiper belt and snapped the most detailed images of Pluto, Arrokoth, and Charon.

The tiny world at the edge of the solar system, so far away from earth, was shrouded in mystery, and we barely had a clue what Pluto even looked like!

But after a 9-year-long journey through space, NASA's New Horizons mission made history by becoming the first ever probe to reach the small world of Pluto.

The stunning images it was able to capture of the planet have forever changed the way we view Pluto and the surrounding Kuiper Belt.

Welcome to Factnomenal, and for today’s video we take a look at everything that NASA's New Horizons mission was able to uncover about the spectacular world of Pluto, and its unique satellites.

Pluto is the king KBO and Eris is the queen. They are the war and discord couple that caused the great planet debate of 2006. Fitting.

We were taught Pluto was a planet when I was in school. It will always be a planet to me. Beautiful images, thank you for the documentary

I love that you kept referring to Pluto as “the planet” just like planetary scientists do in their research papers. Plus it sounds very eloquent and streamlined. Pluto is absolutely a planet, no doubt! This is the best video about Pluto I’ve ever seen, fantastic job! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I truly LOVE how it's not 100% impossible for the movie, "Star Trek: the Motion Picture, " to actually still happen. Go, Vyger, Go! As it should be

Yep, Pluto has all the features of a planet, even if it is small. It will always be a planet to me too.

I used to think about Pluto a lot when I was a child back in the early 60's. It is really special to see these image's in such wonderful detail. I have always thought of Pluto as a planet and will continue to do so. Science and Astronomy will have to work it out! Thank you for the glorious and Stunning Video.😊

From the thumbnail, it looks like Pluto has a sphincter. Cue Uranus joke...

The Lowell Observatory is such a great place to visit. Was able to see Saturn and its rings. Thanks for posting.

🤨 Okay, let's settle this.. Should Pluto be reclassified back to a planet?

I hope you all enjoyed the video! If you did, it would mean the universe to us if you would consider liking and sharing on whichever social platform you use. And don't forget to subscribe to our channel, so we can keep you up to date on everything space related.

I've never given up on Pluto's planetary status ! Those that questioned Pluto as a planet are embarrassingly in error

My favorite was the image at 6:37, w/ the depiction of our Spacey "camera drone" passing by, and the broad detail of the face of the "PLANET" known as Pluto. SO... YES it should be reclassified back to a planet. It even has the "spherical" shape of a planet, and it has moons like planets have, while no other KBO was depicted that way. Thanks for sharing this knowledge and these images.
I loved school until the 6th grade. I hated school after that, and dropped out of school the middle of my Junior year of High School. My mother was a teacher, my father a Civil Engineer. I loved learning and reading. I just hated school and the regimented method of educating. I became a Journalist, and a Commercial Pilot and Flight Instructor. I seek information and this has satiated today's need. Thanks again.

Born in 1955, I was one of those kids that was taught that there were nine planets and only nine planets. I always believe the Pluto was underrated and underappreciated. Pluto always be a planet in my mind no matter what they do to change that. It’s nice to hear that Pluto has much more going for it than what they told us it did back in my old school days. Go Pluto, you rock! :-)

Not possibly but definitely the most interesting surface of a planet after Jupiters moon Io in my opinion, lets hope for more juicy targets in the future.
Wonderful show!
Thanks guys!

Tbh I’m still blow away that we knew Pluto was there in 1905. Absolute insanity! Even 1930 blows my mind.

It’s a planet to me. But what I really wanna know as we have probes beyond the edge of our solar system, is where is that mystery planet will still havnt found. And if there isn’t one, what is it causing issues?

Hope somebody with the knowledge to do it would start a movement to reinstate Pluto as the 9th planet. I think they'd get a huge response.
