Latest NASA Data Show Something Weird is Happening Inside Mars

In an incredible first, astronomers have discovered what lies at the core of Mars. It turns out, the Red Planet isn't as lifeless as we once thought. Mars wasn’t always a dusty, barren world. There’s plenty of evidence that the planet was warm, had lakes of liquid water, and was habitable for a short period in its history. Astronomers had always wanted to know the reason behind this transition, and for that, they had to know what lies at the core of Mars. When the InSight lander started studying the planet’s interior, it discovered that the planet is still rumbling with seismic activity. Now, following a rigorous half-decade mission, InSight has granted scientists a clear vision of the Martian core.

So, how does Mars' core differ from Earth's? What methods did InSight employ to unveil the core of the Red Planet? Finally, and most importantly, what does it tell us about the future of our planet?

The 61st episode of the Sunday Discovery Series answers these questions.

I thought everyone knew that Mars was filled with creamy nougat.

Absolutely amazing data. The fact that we can get seismic data from another world is astounding! Great video.

Thank you for this excellent video! The more I learn about these things, the more fragile and exceptional our own planet feels. And as result, the more I appreciate being alive observing.

So tired of the clickbait "something strange is going on."

Strange things are always being discovered because we've not been able to observe it before now.

I wish these sites would just be honest and stop deceptively mining for views & likes.

🙄👎

Figuring out what's inside something by tapping it isn't an exact science in my opinion, but it's a start

I really hate to be one of those people but could you please add warnings for epileptics! I absolutely love learning about so many things but even slight flashes of lights or even super sudden light changes can trigger seizures.

Long story short, no humans will ever colonize mars. not possible.

0:29, did anyone else *feel* this sound?

So now I know more about the interior of Mars than I do our own Moon. The moon is weird, why aren't we all over it studying our closest neighbor?

And I think some type of Technology like lenses lenses in space with pointed to Mars to point to put more sunlight on Mars's surface would change the atmosphere of Mars and another 200 years or 50 years we would know something

Parts of the Earth look like Mars from space, did it get to where it is now before Earth also does in a slower or later process?

Very interesting story about planet . Videos, facts and text is amazing

So was it possible that Mars might have been a prototype for live as it is now on earth?

The Sumerians knew Mars had water over 5k years ago. It served as a way station for the Annunaki

For any rocky planet, not very different to the same size and mass of the planet Terra... The dynamo effect that produces a decent magnetic corona, that protects its atmosphere from any excessive stars radiation; normally is generated by a combination of its own axis spin together with the tidal effect of an at least 100 km diameter, moon companion.
Being that planet Mars nowadays, only as about 20% of its previously magnetic corona and atmosphere as well. Because, even thought Mars currently spins around its own axis roughly at the same angular speed as the planet Terra... Mars as lost its main moon companion, previously called "Ceila, " upon its last semi-collision with planet Terra. That just about 7M ago; got swallowed by the planet Terra and into the current Gulf of Mexico, increasing the mass of the Earth, by 1% and making a hard reset of the planet Terra biodiversity from about 7M years ago.
To note that: apart from stupid lies; nowadays planet Mars, as 41% of the gravitational pull of planet Terra; 20% of the same type of magnetosphere; 10% of the same atmosphere and 17% of the same water reserves. Meaning that: if someone takes a stroll at sea level altitude, by the surface of the current equatorial regions of planet Mars, while using an asthma inhaler capsule, for once every 2 minutes. That person can stay out in the open in shorts and a t-shirt, for up to 15 minutes, without any risk of fainting or getting any excessive cosmic radiation dosage, as well.

I always thought that due to not having a magnetic field and less gravity the solar wind slowly stripped of the atmosphere

The more we research, the more we learn of the myriad ways life and its sustaining environment are uniquely protected on our planet, yet masses of people fail to reflect upon it.

So why are we still showing animation instead of real pics.
