Not a solar maximum, it's the top of sunspot cycle #25 which is weaker than #24 which was weaker than #23. The sun is moving into a long term grand minimum predicted to run for 60-200 years (NOAA, Royal academy of Sciences London). That is the science. The star will become more erratic with the slowing solar thermal conveyer producing Carrington event like CME's and solar flares. We live in interesting times.

Back in the early 80's, I took a Polaroid camera and took a picture of the sun.
When the film was developed, it showed a solar eclipse, when no solar eclipse was happening.
We found out the film was old enough that the brightness of the sun fried that part of the film.

Valentina zharkova's work on solar Cycles proves along with 400 years of sunspot records that we are going into not a solar maximum but a Grand solar minimum much like what happened from approximately 1400 to 1800 ad which was the little ice age which was four Grand solar minimums that ran back to back. Yes the Sun goes through approximately 11 year solar Cycles but those are only half solar Cycles, a full solar cycle takes approximately 22 years. During an 11-year half solar cycle sunspots begin at the solar poles and slowly migrate to the equatorial regions from both North and South Poles, this is shown in butterfly graphs. At the end of 11-year half solar cycle the cycle resets and the sun flips magnetic poles north to south and then back south to North at the end of the next 11-year past solar cycle which the orientation of the magnetic poles return the way they were 22 approximate years ago. Strange weather patterns and anomalies have been happening throughout the solar system for the past several years from strange cloud formations on many of the gas giants to anomalies in Pluto's atmospheric pressure as well as Earth's magnetic field strength is dropping off a cliff in terms of strength. Valentina zharkova's indicated that we would begin experiencing severe atmospheric anomalies and weather pattern changes around the year 2017 which is exactly when the jet stream began to go into a more north-south flow instead of a zonal flow. Grandsolarminimums are always associated with widespread famine pestilence and death historically, take proper precautions.
