Why Eko Atlantic City Lagos is Gradually Becoming a Ghost Town
Eko Atlantic City is a new coastal city development project in Lagos, Nigeria. The idea for the project was initially conceived in 2003 but construction started in 2006 and is expected to be completed by 2027,
The city developers South Energy X, promised that this new peninsula would anticipate at least 250,000 residents and generate over 400 thousand jobs. It was projected to contribute about 1 billion USD to the Nigerian GDP and serve as a regional hub for banking, tourism, and luxury real estate. The project also aimed to solve the chronic shortage of housing in the fast-evolving city of Lagos and Nigeria at large.
but with 4 years left to reach the proposed 2027 completion date 90% of the land here is still empty. With just a few sky scrypers and few penthouses already completed
But the story here is not about the completion date, which they are probably not going meet up with, the Story is that this city is probably going to be a ghost Town, Yes a ghost town, why? well find out in this video.
