Here is a December 2013 flyover video of Eko Atlantic. To date, over 5,000,000 sqm of land lost to the ocean has been reclaimed.

In this video, you can see the constant development of the infrastructure of Eko Atlantic, from the Great Wall of Lagos to the major roads that will cover the city.

Sometimes, we just have to start afresh. The mere fact to conceive and comprehend the magnitude of claiming and reclaiming land to build a new Lagos is simply phenomenal. This will put us on the map of world tourism.. Eko o le baje oo!

the ideal of building a fabulous city in lagos is a nice one. lagos should be noted as a strong city not only the in the  africa continent,  but also an important city to the whole world just like new york, dubai, istanbul, tokyo etc. i want my country to rise. thats's what  africans need

Stupid project or not, this is good for the country. Its an indication that the world can no longer ignore the potentials of Nigeria. Nigeria + corruption will be a trillion dollar economy within the next 5 years. (So imagine what will happen without corruption). Nobody will ignore that. Ambitious projects like this will eventually spill over. Even if it will be occupied by foreigners mostly, it is still a part of Nigeria. You have to get Nigerian Visa to get there. So instead of complaining, we should consider this as an eye opener for future projects. Follow me and say NAIJA MUST RISE!

A great project indeed - but like all projects in African countries we tend to look at the positive side mostly and forget to consider most pertinent issues which could totally rock such a great project. QUESTION 1 "Which measures have been taken to take care of the effect/power of the surging Ocean Water Level Rising as a result of the Earth Warming and consequent melting of the polar ice in the next 50 to 100 years ahead?  We all know today, that all scientific evidences say this will surely happen - the question is not when but only how?
So with this in mind, the CONSIDERATION of the issues raised in "MY QUESTION 1"  are very fundamental for the survival and usefulness of of this giant project for Nigeria, hence this will again in the future as we all know, join the long lists of derailed "elephant projects" like National Theatre, Festac Town, National Trade Fair Complex etc which we are all witnesses to their state today, in terms of maintenance and infrastructure.

THE PANORAMIC VIEW TO THE ATLANTIC OCEAN HAS ONLY ONE DESCRIPTION..(DYNA-MITE), THIS WILL BE ONE OF THE PARADISE ON EARTH WITHIN A FEW YEARS TO COME.I COULD IMAGEN SOMEONE LIVING ON A 20TH FLOOR OF AN EDIFICE AT THIS END U'LL NEVER NEED AN A/C TO SLEEP AT NIGHT AND IT WILL BE FUN TO HAVE ALL THE WINDOWS OPEN FOR THE OCEAN BREEZE TO BLOW YOUR MIND AWAY.

IF only they builders could extend the basic infrastructure to the rest of old Lagos esp in terms of building sewerages, storm drainages and roads, it would really be great. Ignoring old Lagos and just building a new city from scratch won't completely solve the problem of overpopulation.

I like the project but they are going to create a massive gap between the rich and poor. They need to focus on the shanty towns, creating affordable housing with basic things like water and electricity, sanitation and focus on waste management. Lagos has so much waste. This project looks awesome but they need to look at helping the ordinary lagos person first.

Mr Seun Ayodele must live in a land of magic or fantasy, no pun intended, but I dont imagine he has heard the term....little drops of water...form the mighty ocean.

Yes Nigeria has many basic problems, the first of which is infrastructure, and another being employment, with this humongous project, these two problems can begin to be attended to.
