Welcome to Eko Atlantic city famously known as the Dubai of Lagos Nigeria, this city is officially the Nigeria International commerce city that is being constructed on land reclaimed from the Atlantic Ocean, meaning that all these land you are seeing here are 100% sand filled, This project is Africa's Largest Private Real Estate Project situated in Lagos, Nigeria.
Eko Atlantic City was birthed in 2003 as a solution to environmental hazards arising from the perennial flooding of the Lagos bar beach area of Lagos and to create more job opportunities
This premium smart city is situated adjacent to Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria in West Africa to showcase Nigeria as a viable real estate investment destination.
The project is privately funded by South Energyx Nigeria Limited – the developers and city planners, a subsidiary of the Nigeria-based Chagoury Group of companies – working in strategic partnership with the Lagos State Government and supported by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Eko Atlantic City is a visionary project that will measure a total of 10 million square metres of reclaimed land when fully completed and currently at 6,520,000 m² of land; and has rapidly transformed the coastline into a world-class destination that showcases the true potential of urban development.
The City has a state-of-the-art 24/7 infrastructure network, including 21st Century communications system, quality road network and uninterrupted electricity supply, making it a compelling place to live and work. Upon completion, Eko Atlantic will accommodate about 300,000 people as residents while 200,000 individuals are expected to commute to the city on a daily basis either for work or business transaction.
Infrastructural development has achieved substantial completion in Phases 1 and 2 (both phases total a combined area of 5,000,000 m²), with a high portion of the road network already defined with kerb lines and block paving together with sidewalks, street lighting, planted trees, utility services comprising storm water drainage, sewer drainage, water supply, electrical power distribution and fibre-optic cable network for IT services are in full progress alongside roadworks.
Other highlights of development in the city at the moment include the completion of 14 bridges, the Great Wall of Lagos, which has reduced the ocean surge into Victoria Island and environs, and the completed Eko Pearl Towers, Alfren tower and other ongoing project right here at Eko atlantic city
Eko Atlantic is no empty but it is yet to max its capacity, some of which reasons include:
Expensive land over $1000 per square meter.
No payment plan for land however the houses have up to 18 months payment plan.
Harsh economic and forex policies affecting purchase as land is in dollars.
