Titanic Depth in Perspective! 🤯🛳️ (3821 m)

Located about 460 miles south of Newfoundland, Canada, the Titanic currently rests about 3821 m (13,000 feet) under the sea. (About 8 Empire States and a half)

For perspective, the world’s deepest scuba dive reached 332 m in 2022, while the world’s tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, would only go down 828 m into the ocean – still roughly 2956 m short of reaching the Titanic wreckage.

Thank you. This really helps to understand how deep that is. Wow

Now, the Mariana Trench is three times as deep as the titanic.

It’s crazy how insignificant a 2.5 walk or run is compared to going 2.5 miles underwater.

You must be bonkers to go down that deep in a 5 inch carbon fibre made cylinder!

This really puts into perspective how small Titanic is compared to the ocean

It’s phenomenal to think that this famous ship is sitting on the bottom of the ocean this very moment

I've stood at the Empire State rooftop. It is dizzying high.
Eight times deep as that height... is incomprehensible.
Then add the unimaginable force generated by the weight of the ocean.
Pressure so great it compresses air till ignition in milliseconds.
There is nothing of them to find.
RIP

If the ocean was transparent it would’ve been really cool

It’s even scary to know that the ocean is much deeper than where the Titanic is.

Finally. First video that truly puts it into perspective.

3821 ÷ 8.5 = 449.5 m.
The Empire State Building is 380 m.
So the depth is no 8.5 but 10 times the height of the ESB.

It definitely makes you think again if you want to visit the wreckage.

You would need to stand on the top of the Empire State Building to really grasp the concept of then doing that another 8.5X the height 💀

It's just crazy that it had to sink at this exact spot where the sea is *so* deep.

As someone said.. space is easy because it's empty but water is tough, to explore.

Very spooky but helpful to realize how deep it is.

The USS Samuel B is about twice the depth of the Titanic. Imagine THAT kind of pressure.
