We have a 2008 Ford Escape SUV with 200, 000 miles. V6 engine that I changed the oil every 3, 000 miles. Replaced the struts and that is about it. Also changed transmission, differential and PTO gear oils every 30, 000 miles.
I can fit 2 dog boxes (47 inches wide) side by side in the 2008 Escape...most 2023 SUVs are shaped so that is no longer possible.

I currently drive a 2008 Toyota Highlander, even with the VVT issue it's still a great running SUV just remember to change the oil every 5, 000 miles
