5-Year-Old Girl Left Abandoned At Bus Station Leads Police To Murdered Mom

A 5-year-old girl who was reportedly abandoned at New York's Port Authority Bus Terminal told police where she lived, and that's where they made a tragic discovery. An officer approached the crying girl after commuters told authorities she had been alone for an extended period of time. The child reportedly told them her father had instructed her to wait there until he returned but he never did. #InsideEdition

Most recent info I could find was from May 2019. Father was sentenced to 25 to life for the murder of his estranged wife. (He smothered her with a wet towel over jealousy of her feelings for an old boyfriend. Child was asleep and did not witness.) He has also signed a relinquishing of his parental rights and as of May 2019, the girl, now 9 yrs old, is available for adoption.

Elmer Gomez Ruano, 35, had pleaded guilty in January to murdering his 24-year-old wife, Donicia Bautista-Cano, in their Stamford apartment in November 2016.
