Woman Arrested for 911 Call About DUI Over ‘School Board Feud’ at Safeway

A Colorado woman, Samantha Peck, allegedly called 911 to report a drunk driver who had a kid in their car at a Colorado Safeway on July 24. The Woodland Park Police Department said that they suspected Peck’s report to be false after speaking with the apparent suspect, Katie Illingworth, who appeared to be sober and did not have a child in her car. Illingworth stated that Peck was among a group of petitioners working to recall her husband from the local school board. “She has gotten up in public and said horrible things about my family,” Illingworth said. Peck was arrested and charged with two counts of attempting to influence a public servant and one count of false reporting of an emergency.

This is how you react to a police stop. Even though she knew she did nothing wrong she was still courteous, respectful and understanding. I think the caller was hoping that even if she wasn't drinking she might overreact and get herself arrested for something else maybe for getting physical and angry... but the woman in the car handled this perfectly.

As soon as she started talking I knew the caller was lying, her eyes were perfectly normal, no slurred speech, no combativeness, no arguing. You could tell this wasn’t her first issue with the caller. Man. How vindictive can someone be? Totally could’ve put this lady in a bad situation if they were cops that didn’t wanna sit and listen.

Just goes to show....not all adults are MATUTRE adults. Good for lady questioned. She was calm, cool and collected. PROVED the caller wrong AND got shown respect, from the police, for it. Proves you remain calm, and all remain calm. And proves that is you SHOW respect, you GET respect. Good for her!

Seems odd the victims interview is released but not the arrest of the perp. So the perp doesn't get shamed but the victims image & privacy are publicly displayed.

I loved the way she handled herself during the questioning by the officer. I'm sorry this family is being harassed.
False reporting to the police is a class 2 misdemeanor that is punishable by up to 120 days in jail and/or up to $750.
The sad thing is the police could be helping someone who needs "Real Help during their time wasted here!
