Chief medical officers Chris Whitty (England), Gregor Smith (Scotland), Frank Atherton (Wales) and Michael McBride (Northern Ireland) gave more detail on their recommendation that children aged 12 to 15 should be offered a first dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine.

They were joined by June Raine (from MHRA) and Wei Shen Lim (from JCVI) in the Downing Street briefing.
