I was really suprised by this guitar. I was checking out few Gibson Les Pauls in a Guitar store and there stood few SGs, and this specific model caught my atention because of the natural look.. It was the cheapest of all the SGs there but it has the thinnest neck of all of them and its literally a shredder Guitar because of that.. I tried it and its really easy on that sexy neck to play fast and it sounds amazing. I will buy one just for the sexy neck and for the sexy tone.

Miss mine. Had one from the 80s, gave it to my musical inclined nephew. I wore the finish off the back of the neck. I told him if he didn’t want it anymore I’ll take it back. He traded it for a Boss DS1. Damn!

My old SG had that poker chip issue. It comes with a few nuts and washers, try removing those to add the chip

Finally narrowed my hunt to either one of these or a new SG standard...having both, any thoughts? Simply churning out some of the best content out there my dude!

I had the same experience with the poker chip which I thought was pretty lame of Gibson. Other than that I’m really glad that I bought one of these. Sounds and plays great. I really love mine!

OMG! IDK. They all sound so good but there's something about the Gibson SG Standard Tribute hooked up to the Marshall's that sounds so bad. I'd have to say between the JCM 900 4100 and the DSL 100HR I think I prefer the 900... but why not get both. I'm literally buying a new 19' SG Standard Tribute as we speak in the same Walnut Gloss, I want it to sound exactly like yours. The guitar that is, I definitely can't play as good as you.

hey! this is a great review mate! thanks for it! may I have a question? do this neck feels like on the nowadays SG standards? because I cant play on standards nowadays.. not for my fingers. I am just trying to figure out if the neck on tribute is gonna be the same or not. thank you!

The walnut finish looks like a faded red in dark lighting which is kinda really cool...

which amp do you think can give full play to the characteristics of SG, including evh 5150, 6505+ .I want to have 6505+, but clean is not good
