Available in Vintage Cherry Satin, and Natural Walnut Satin, the SG Standard Tribute boasts a traditional mahogany body and rounded profile maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. It is finished with a black, 5-ply full-face pickguard loaded with double black, open-coil 490R and 490T Alnico II loaded pickups. Nickel plated hardware includes Vintage Deluxe tuners w/ Keystone buttons, a Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge and Aluminum Stop Bar Tailpiece.

The real surprises here were the tasty clean tones! Much nicer than those of a typical Les Paul.

Man this guy is a great player. He really demonstrated well how the SG can put out multiple different tones and sound good doing them all. I love these guitars

Some versatile tones coming from those pickups. Sounds like a fender in the sweet spot plus all the mid range fullness you don't normally get with a fender

The neck is maple bro, I have a 2020 model in walnut finish and absolutely love this guitar! Put some nickel covers on the pups and some proper knobs and it's a rock n roll machine!

Great demo! I'm not sure why, but I've always lived the sound of the 490's, probably even more than I like the more expensive Gibson pickups!

I got one of each color, the 2019 model needed about 300$ worth of work to make playable . . second one i got 2022 model walnut came to me about perfect . . great guitars, and yes nickel covers takes the shreik out of them . no replacements needed

If it came with rolled fretboard edges and dressed fret ends it would be a killer axe. I filed down the sharp saw tooth fret ends and rolled the board's edges with a screw driver, it now plays plays like a dream.

In the market for a new S.G, been debating back and forth between the standard vs the tribute. Like the standard better but just can't decide whether or not the added features it has is worth the additional 400 to 500 dollar increase in price. Especially considering the differences seem to be mostly(if not all)cosmetic

Damn can you play. The video was a great review but you stole the show by your amazing playing. I was looking for a review on this guitar because I am buying one today and this here video you made is awesome but I was more amazed and interested in listening to you play then I was learning more about the guitar lol. So in essence you stole the show, , , but in a great way lol... But like i stated, Damn you can play, your an amazing guitarist and thank you for sharing I will for sure be looking and watching your videos... :)
