This phone is great for people who prefer the smaller size and aren’t too worried about camera quality… other than that its performance is exceptionally well. I hate how all these new phones are getting bigger and bigger. To me this is the perfect size

The se is cool, I just came off the se 22 after about 2years the only downside for that phone is the battery life but I hear the 3rd gen se has a better battery but not sure if it’s true. I got mine through straight talk wireless at Walmart they got good coverage and phones for less then you would find other places

Honestly, if you are willing to adjust your phone use expectations, I would still get the iPhone SE. The design may be old, but there is still a market for those that like this form factor -- users that are still holding onto the iPhone 6, 7 and 8 that want to upgrade their hardware can go with this option because it's a familiar design, no muscle memory is tampered with, and they can still use their old accessories like the protective cases they already have -- saves them more money that way. Regarding the "outdated" display, there are people that get sick due to pulse width modulation (PWM) with OLED screens. LCD panels rarely cause that issue. Not to mention, LCD screens can help prolong battery life compared to OLED.

Despite Apple now using USB-C going forward because of EU regulations, Apple's proprietary lightning port will still be around for a while -- how long, that depends. And that's because despite the 15 series just being released, there are thousands of past iPhone models still in use. The average consumer isn't gonna keep upgrading every year unless they are the type to splurge. I would suggest getting a 3rd party USB- C charging/data cable with a lightning port adapter included that's MFI approved - just carry one cable for all your other devices, less clutter.

Lastly, with Apple's great track record of software upgrades of up to 5, even 7 years keeping the old models current, no need to upgrade for a long time. iOS 17 runs really well on the SE, so yeah, users will get their money's worth. I just don't suggest buying the SE from Apple directly.

I’m still using my SE2 that I got when my original SE would no longer OS update. I’m an older woman, with small hands, living on a fixed income; but a longtime Apple/Mac user, and I like that my iPhone, Mac & iPad communicate & work together effortlessly.

I've had this phone for over a year now. Size is perfect, love the touch ID over face ID, battery is OK, the only thing to watch out for is the camera. The difference is HUGE compared to any other camera on an iPhone made in the last 4 or so years.

I had a love / hate with my Gen 2 SE. Compact - yes. Had the SoC power - yes Has the Same OS as it's $1k brothers -yes. But that small screen/ keyboard was hell for my pork chop thumbs, battery was trash when pushing it and the screen was too small and now spoiled with OLED panels.
Mike, this was a stellar review. 👍🏻

It gets the job done😅. Phone calls, texts, emails, surfing the net, good not great photos, video playback. All for less than half the price of the latest flagship iPhone. Can’t beat that.

i just switched from Xiaomi to SE 3 and all i can say . the difference is huge. its defenatly worth it, as long as you can find it on a decent price. the only thing i can see as a problem is the small battery it has, i guess if it goes lower than 90% and you use it a lot, u gonna need a powerbank.
The size is perfect the camera is great and its super fast with A15 Bionic

Forget affordable, my primary search criteria is SMALL. I have the first gen SE and I love the size. Nothing else I find is this small. Are there any Android phones that can match?

I moved to Apple because Samsung decided to abandon the small form factor market. I hated the thought of going to Apple but figured I could get used to it. Since primary use is call, text and a few basic apps, it's worked out okay.

I own an se 2 64gb and it has been quite reliable. Built like a tank. It has ios 17.5.1 and I am impressed with its speed. I just ordered a red refirbished 64gig se 3 and I'll compare the two, myself.

I find myself wondering why very few reviewers are talking about the advantages of the iPhone SE 3 having LCD. Lots of people have issues with sensitivity to the PWM of OLED.
