People in the past were so advanced, because they were like us today. Not once, but several times. Each time human civilization reached the point it is at right now, there was total collapse for one reason or another. They had technology. The drawings of DaVinci were not in fact his own inventions, but were far ancient inventions. Yes, we made machines out of wood, among other materials. There is far too much evidence of ancient machines being used at literally every single ancient site to ignore. You can't turn stone into a pot or vase without having very fast lathe machines.If our timeline is correct, and as far as all of our ancient histories and ancient texts are concerned, it is (the dates line up across ancient texts, religious texts and more), then we even have texts from far before humans existed. And many of those texts mention ancient machines, flying craft, deadly weapons, nukes, and far more, hinting that we had the same kind of technology we have now. And according to people who live in Egypt, not the archaeologists, the pyramids were built using gigantic machines. We know they were not built by slaves, but the mainstream narrative is still that they were built by slaves. You try to force three people get you a glass of water, I bet it won't happen. And we're talking upwards of 200, 000 slaves VS about a hundred men with whips. it simply wouldn't happen. Not only would that many people easily win a revolt, but to build the Great Pyramid in the time given, they'd have to be cutting, smoothing and laying several stones per minute. And that's with no breaks, no food or water, no rest, non stop for 21 years. There is no possible way. But if you upscale a modern crane to be 40 times bigger... It would easily lift and place those blocks. And if you had massive circular saws and polishers, you could easily cut and smooth the blocks.

In Peru the Inca and Peruvians to this day still use these clay pots similar to the Pythagoras cup. I can't recall the name but the pot was inverted to fill with water for storage and a small spout at the top that can only flow out when the pot is upright if it tips over the flow stops. Not super practical for drinking but they were decorated and placed as centerpieces in peoples homes

Why the tech disappeared is it worked so good it lasted longer that the people whom built and maintained it. It just lasted so long without issues and when it broke down the people didn't know how to fix or replace the system. That is what I think happened to the Indian water pipes

The reason is if we were a highly advanced human society until a large catastrophe happened followed by a large flood which basically wiped us from the face of the earth. I'm sure we had some big equipment left and a lot of us survived in caves but as things got worse we lost our technology I mean it's hard to dig up iron from the ground if you don't know where the iron is and you don't have enough people to do it. And then it just gets worse from there and eventually we become hunter and gatherers or we die and then we start all over again and here we are at the top of the pinnacle or close to the top and hopefully we don't get smashed again peace and prosperity
