Not going to college makes loads of sense mostly if you plan to study in the US. Over the past 50 years its just become a money sucking machine (of course you get good education, but at what cost?) For most other countries, college is pretty affordable and all around a good choice for some quality education.

Just today I confessed to my parents that I am going to pursue my passion that is photography, and complete degree from distance learning so that I can manage time to study and to my work as flexibly as I want. They agreed for this decision !

It is all a matter of perspective and personal needs. Not everyone needs the same thing in life, and that's alright. The journey to success isn't a linear path, nor is success itself a permanent badge of honour. It's okay to want to go to college. It's okay to not want to go to college. It's okay to find out that college isn't for you and to drop out of college. Everyone's mental capacity is different, and you're not required to do something someone else did just because it gained them success. The world is very messed up, we're supposed to know what we want when we're barely 17-18. If you already know, well and good. If you don't, that's okay too. Just know that others' journeys are not the same as yours and hence it's pointless to compare yourself to others.

YES Avanti! I absolutely agree! College is much more than the classes, it extends into the network of people you meet and the connections you make. I am an incoming freshman and I hope to be able to attend college in person because the college experience comprising of innumerable unique experiences is what I am most excited for!

I am literally a class 11th student who wishes to do college third year level of mathematics by the end of my 12th grade...
The point being its all about your hunger to learn and know something that you are truly interested in and college is just a society level commitment that yes you are educated which is a really bad thing. Why do you need to go to college to prove you are educated? The internet has so many resources to make you realise that you can even get a full PhD in any subject without any college environment exposure. It just takes 2 external things - Hardwork and patience.
Let’s together change the view of the society by making college just a time to learn to be responsible rather than getting educated. Explore the internet you will know that you have much more out there than you think you do.

I'll be joining University this year, and I have my own reasons:
1. University will be a great place to meet like minded people and probably I could start up with someone from my uni.
2. The activities and college fests are something that I really look forward to, I never got an opportunity at school:( but I will participate in clubs and stuff at uni.
3. Research opportunities and probably I'll find myself a mentor there.

But I also think I am doing it for the societal validation. I mean it will be hard for me to find employment without a college degree.
Probably it's just playing safe.

I also feel like due the prevalence of internet accessibility in today's world it is very easy to find most of it on internet. for example on your discord server! Or any other discord server or anything alike. The internet is full of knowledge and intelligent people who are willing to collaborate. So lately I have really started to question my decision of whether to join college or not. So I'm really grateful that you shared this video. Thank you!

Actually Avanti it's a lot easy for you to say this because you have Rich and supportive parents that you can always rely on but it's not the case with middle class families we have to struggle a lot and most of the parents don't support their child's vision and they only want us to do a good job and spend our entire life living simply and that's why dreams of so many students are crushed every day and we have to just compromise I wished I just had parents just like you Avanti 😔😔

Go to clg if you want, not only for getting degree and good job but also to learn from peers & make network & frnds for life.
If you can't, you tube and internet is the largest learning place in the world which is free and a lot of content is absolute gold. Very few people actually know this.

Just do whatever you like but try to be at the best of it and life will be easy.
