That’s why I’m happy I had a teacher that said after high school you should be one of 3 E’s. Enrolled, Employed, or Enlisted.

My wealthiest friends are plumbers, builders and welders.

Where my grandson graduated from was Radnor and they pushed students to be lawyer, doctors, teachers. He was laughed at for wanting to be a pipe fitter in local 420. He makes more than a college grad without the crippling debt.

I got a trade not a degree. My trade allowed me to build a business I sold aged 45 that enabled me to retire.

My husband was a plumber and made a very, very good living . The trades are extremely short on tradesmen. My husband is 84 and still gets calls to do plumbing jobs.

Yeah if you don't graduate from college or have a blue collar job people do look down on you. It's ridiculous. Country couldn't operate without us

I worked with a guy 15yrs ago who told me his HS principal told him to his face in no uncertain terms that he was a piece of shit that would never amount to anything. So this guy waited and at his 10yr reunion specifically went just to show his principal his W2 and say look at that you MFr now I make more than you!!! Then gave him the bird with a nice smug smile on his face😂 Billy was a heavy equipment operator and a damn good dozer hand, quite well respected too. POS my ass, he’s a great guy.

Being 31 and spending five years in college to become a teacher and then having a short six year career as a teacher, my biggest regret is going to college because I was pressured into picking a major instead of learning a trade and building a side career in music. I wish I could go back and right that wrong. But now I'm no longer a teacher so who knows...

So true!! I work at a community college and I push skilled trades, hvac, etc. all the time. We need to catch and interest young people way before high school. many students aren’t handy and don’t think they can work with their hands. Part of it is what he’s saying and the other is confidence to do it. The unions, employers, and some schools will train you. Thankfully more students are going into these fields, but not enough. Thank you to all the men (and women) in these fields!!

When my daughter (23) said she didn’t want to go to college I was glad. She and her husband are self-employed business owners and doing very well! 😊

As an educator, I ask my students what are your plans for after graduation. College is not for everyone, and education comes through life experience

I went to YTI for motorcycle/four-wheelers etc. and was able to use that technical degree to get to where I am now which is doing inspections and repairs on aerial lift equipment (scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other heavy equipment. I know college graduates that went for 4 years and aren't making nearly what I'm making do what I do.

There's nothing sexier than a man who can fix and build.

How you went from welder to defending our communities to defending our country is crazy, but true. Our nation needs tough minds and hands that built this nation.

I have a 4 year BS degree and chose to make a career in a blue collar job as an automotive technician. Best decision I ever made.

I was a successful farrier (horseshoer) for 55 yrs. When I was around 52 yrs, I went to college just for the hell of it. Paid my tuition, loved every minute of it and never stopped working. I have nothing to show for it but personal enrichment, and fond memories. I accomplished it through my trade, and have no regrets. I've had a wonderful life.

Right to boot camp after graduation, like 2 hours after. Retired from the military after 22 years and make $125k a year turning wrenches and will finally totally retire next year at age 50 with zero bills.

My two sons had every intention of going to college. I had homeschool my children 30 years ago when it was not popular. When my son turned 17 I took him to Boulder Colorado because that was the one college he had really aspired to attend. I have friends in Boulder and was thrilled that they would be there for my son if the need arose. After spending two weeks in Boulder he informed me that he could not stomach the liberal idiocy that was coming out of that campus. And that was ten years ago! I can only imagine how exponentially the idiocy has grown.
