This is a theory, but it does seem that the more masculine the person the more feminine they prefer their partner. The closer to the middle the person is the more variable their preferences

This is especially the case with men

This is an interesting topic . I've said for a while that men and women view attractiveness differently, this theory stemmed from my high school experience. There was always a girl that all the guys fancied, but the girls (me included) saw nothing special about. It had nothing to do with jealousy, but a genuine and confusing observation. A girl that 'other' girls deemed attracted was never seen as that attractive by the guys. I've always been confused about my perceived attractiveness as I feel I have a gender balanced 'positive' feedback. However, I think my face leans towards men finding it more attractive than women do.

An aspect that probably influences these types of studies is that the test subjects for psychology research often are psychology students. Which means that the studied group has gone through a pre-selection: participants tend to be in their 20's, are more towards the intelligent end of IQ spectrum & come usually from middle-class or higher socio-economic background. I also wonder about the cultural differences - would a research done in Thailand or Sudan yield the same results as the same research done in th USA?

For an average video-wiever it is almost impossible to make an assesment about how well the study was done or how comprehensive it's scope was. Many of the psychology results haven't been able to be replicated - or the results are much murkier than the cut-clean interpretation given to the public. Psychology is a really complicated field of study!

Can you make a video on attractiveness due to exposure? like, how people get attracted to certain facial features after being exposed to ppl w different facial features for a while, like after moving countries

I'm a girl but I love feminine delicate facial features for both men and women (V shaped sharp jawline, small chin, small nose, small pouty mouth). Men with hyper masculine face (such as big strong jaw) look old and unattractive to me. Just my opinion but I'm pretty sure there are tons of other people who think the opposite.

Do a video on beauty spots / marks. That’ll be interesting.

The more I look at these analysis, the more I understand that based on facial aesthetics alone I don't stand a chance and its better to just focus on what I want to do than than trying to find someone that would love me.

Hi Qoves Studio, would you consider doing a video on what is more powerful when it comes to attraction "nature vs. nurture" or what is scientifically beautiful vs. what pop culture considers beautiful?

In many of your videos, you've stated that things like jawline and symmetry are more important than things like having blue eyes or white skin. However, I am American and, here it seems like most women in their 20s and 30s would chase after an Andrew Garfield and, ignore a Sendhil Ramamurthy even though Sendhil is clearly scientifically closer to fitting the definition of beauty.

After years of witnessing so many examples of this I can't help but, to think that what society (and media: movies, television, magazines) deems as beautiful is more influential than what we evolved to think is beautiful.

Your thoughts?

Do developing nations, developed nations and underdeveloped nations have different beauty standards or some of these nations emphasize money, social prestige over physical attractiveness.

I find that men who are perceived as very attractive are just not until I speak with them and determine their openness and intelligence, integrity and empathy. If they lack those traits and more I no longer find them attractive. On the other hand I can meet a man who is less attractive but has a great and kind heart and demeanor I then perceive him as a 10.

it's funny. I see couples that are not aesthetically attractive but they seem to be happy together. then I see attractive people who seem to be more lonely than others and can't find partner for long term even with all the looks

The thing with bodily attractiveness for men is that bodily attractiveness can develop into facial attractiveness over time and thus the type of relationship will change too; from short term to long term relationship. It's lust (sexual attraction) for short term relationship developing into infatuation (romantic attraction) for long term relationship.

I always prefer masculine men it seems, the whole month BUT my style (fashion and interior design) changes from soft/feminine to more clean/sleek throughout the month 🤷🏻‍♀️

In other words, there isn’t one man or woman that could satisfy any man or any woman when it comes to physical looks.

Unless the beauty equivalent of Thor drops from the skies.

On the point of self attractiveness. Is that an objective rating or are deluded individuals also affected by their perception. In other words, do ugly individuals who rate themselves highly prefer the highly attractive faces? Can we use this as a way to rate our own level of attractiveness?
