The AMD CPU delay wasn't due to a typo. Mooreslawisdead posted a video about a week ago and confirmed through one of his contacts at AMD that it was a performance issue.

Supposedly the testing methodology was changed during production and they noticed that some of the higher binned CPUs were not meeting the QA standards with the new testing method. They are retesting earlier batches with the new methods and rebinning if necessary. (ie. Underperforming 9950Xs will be made into 9900Xs etc)

If true, this isn't entirely bad. Hopefully the result is more consistent and higher overclocking potential from higher binned units and better than expected performance from the lower binned ones. Also shows how much AMD is committed to releasing a viable product.

The difference is………AMD took care of their problem very quickly. As for blaming motherboard manufacturers………that just BS. It’s the CPU that requests voltage from the motherboard. Updating your bios is nothing more than a “placebo” put out by Intel. Bottom line…..these Intel CPU’s are flawed.

There micro code actually working being good and reducing performance so minutely that I say no they aren't. Replacements are shipping fast literally anywhere from 2 day to overnight jntel is paying for people. The turnaround is insanely fast so intel is doing the right thing and or we'll.

I think intel will make a turnaround and it will all settle not as far from now as people think. I get gamer nexus is mad he didn't get rhe exact response he wanted because he doesn't understand corporate business but he shoupd get over it since they are doing everything they need to do for the effected units and now having a microscope update that will eliminate the issue with new cpus people buy. I think it's working out well for sure.

I've had 13th gen all this generation and not a single issue.

I think their fab business will make or break them. They've double and even tripled down on that strategy. The damage goes farther than just 13/14th gen CPUs. Businesses may no longer trust Intel and that includes their chip fabs. They might just go back to TSMC because they trust them more.
