I bought my I7-13700K Q4/2022. Was stable for 9 months. Then very random CTD crashes started during playing Crusaders Kings 3 (but nowhere else) approx once per one hour. And it's been getting worse ever since. A month ago, other games started crashing as well. Just random CTD, not BSOD.
The solution I found after changin almost all components, reinstall system few times to another drive - was to disable turbo mode and lower the CPU voltages. That's about 40% performance loss. The question was for how long. Because obviously the silicon in this CPU degrades over time much faster than we were used to before.

Hopefully a permanent solution cost me just 1400USD.

In the UK we have chip shops everywhere so its not such an issue as our chips are usually fried.

What a great day to use a AMD CPU. I had my laptop for a few years with a Ryzen 7 6800H chip in it and it still works great. Go team red!

I just heard about this intel situation after experiencing a complete meltdown of my MSI i9 13950hx (rtx4090) laptop today, after observing a continuous deterioration over the time I had the laptop, filled with crashes, audio statics, and blue screens. It’s really just unthinkable, I just got the machine 4 months ago. It really feels hopeless the laptop won’t even boot.
