Step into a time machine and join me in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, to explore how one of the most mysterious communities of the USA, the Amish, lives. They don’t have Internet, cars or electricity but that doesn’t make them any less happy. Can farming and looking after livestock actually help to discover serenity? Can buggies be modern? You can unravel these and many other secrets in my new video!

The Amish are unique. Amish men were putting a roof on my mom's house and I got out of my car wearing my military BDUs (battle dress uniform) since I was in the army reserves. They stopped and looked at me like I had three heads. At first, I was like, haven't you seen a black woman dressed in BDUs before? Well, no, they haven't until my mother came out to greet me and noticed their curiosity. We all had a nice conversation full of questions. The biggest surprise to them was that I wasn't married. A van came and picked them up later that day because they can accept rides but can't drive to places they need to go that's several miles away. Thirty years later, I'm still not married but God bless those guys. I'm sure I was a topic of conversation for them for days. LOL Sorry for the rant...

You educated me, and what I admit I grew up in Pennsylvania; my parents spoke of this Amish community, yet I knew very little about them. Now I am encouraged to visit there for a few days and to explore my state which I moved away from 48 years ago. Thank you. Your videos are quality.❤

My Ancestors, were early Anabaptist, a Minister of the faith. Both he and his wife were martyred in Switzerland. I also have ancestors who are both. Amish and Mennonite. Thank you for sharing this!

This is how every community should be. The Amish take care of each other from birth to death.

When he spoke of the school system, I wish he spoke of the horrible tragedy that took place in in a Lancaster School in the mid-80s if i recall. Defenseless Amish children slaughtered by a non Amish mad man, angry at the world. All mass school situations are horrible, but this even was gut-wrenching.

The Amish are citizens that live in the US and the state, and the government doesn't bother them. I would say they are beating the system that everyone else is subjected to.

i won’t over glorify their way of life but as a person who lived in rural pennsylvania for 4 years, i’ve been able to meet some of them. many are modernizing their ways as a few girls attended my college classes. only a semester though. i also won’t say they’re extremely happy people, just living life.

Just finished watching your video. Great job. I live is Strasburg and enjoyed seeing my area in your video. My home is a few houses down from the PNC Bank in your video. Strasburg and the surrounding area offer a unique experience of Amish life. There is an area located in Bird and Hand that I really enjoy. It seems that 90% of the residents are Amish. It’s like going back in time. Glad you enjoyed your stay.

American people for the most part don't ask government to fix there life's. They fix it themselves. This is like it everywhere in United States. Those who wait for government help there towns look nothing like this. Less government is our monto
