Constantly worrying about losing your job is not only discouraging, but it can also significantly impact your well-being. I personally would know this as I experienced it first-hand, getting retrenched in early May this year.

In fact, studies have shown that job insecurity can negatively impact your concentration and motivation and lead to mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression.

I’ve come to learn that proactively confronting your layoff anxiety is the best way to keep fears from getting the better of you🌼

I’ve been downsized twice in my career. I’m no longer scared of getting downsized because I’m now prepared. In the end, it’s just a job. Thank you.

I've been through a layoff, it is super anxiety inducing but also freeing at the same time. We attach too much to our "jobs" when life passes us by. The book "30 Days to Reduce Anxiety" by Harper Daniels helped me at the time; it taught me some mindfulness techniques. It's so important to detach from the job and then open yourself to other possibilities. Believe that other possibilities exist, and trust yourself to create a path.

I’ve experienced it as well. Layoffs, insecurity about job situation. Thankfully, it’s in the past and I’m retired now. You have explained so well 👏🏽

I'm retired now. However, I have myself gone through losing my job in the past. Instead, of moving on, I didn't have any motivation to start planning for another job. I remember my Dad helping get going by upping my spirits. Thank you Trish for all you do do for so many.

I get anxious about the most simple things as trying to learn a new song on the guitar to imagining that I have to speak in public 😊

I cannot count the number of times where I presumed the less work I had, the more likely I was getting released from a job. The bottom line, you can be doing great at a job and they can release you for any reason. Thank you for the tips, Trish. 👍
