I was 13 when that happened.
My younger brother and I were both home sick from school, our mother was doing work in her rise garden, I had celebrated my 12th birthday two days before that .
We were watching cartoons, and suddenly Walter Cronkite interrupted what were watching to say that President John F.Kennedy had been” Cut down” we didn’t inkwell what that meant.
The cartoons resumed, but mere seconds later, they interrupted yet again to say he had been shot, that day will FOREVER remain in my psyche.

I knew nothing about politics as an 8 year old, but I remember thinking he looked a very nice person and I was sad for days.

So sad, so sad; when I watch anything like this it brings back a mountain of memories of what happened and what might have been in positive terms.

One of the saddest days in my life 😢 I was in the 5th grade 'n our teacher, Mrs. Shuman took the whole class out to the front of our school 'n some of us kneeled around the Flagpole 'n the rest of us stood in the cold, misty rain as we Prayed 'n cried for our Beloved President, John Kennedy 💔🌅✝️🔥

I get a visceral bad depressing feeling/reaction every time I see a picture or a video from that day. Takes me right back to my childhood - remembering this horrible day and the continuing aftermath.

I was only 13years old when when JOHN F KENNEDY was assassinated, Iam not American but my country has good link with the USA. President was intelligent, smart and had a good platform for his country. My whole country cried for his death. RIP.

Up to this very second, the situation still makes me very angry. For the time that he was President, President John F Kennedy did everything in his power to help the country. Trying to do things the right way got him shot. I read organized crime was one of the big issues. He could have done so much more if he would of remained in office. This was my worst birthday remembrance ever. Then, they did not do enough damage, Robert F Kennedy was shot and killed. Seems very strange that John Jr's plane crashed. Everyone said that was rigged to get rid of him. That was the last straw. Everything perfectly covered up!!! I absolutely do NOT CARE what anybody says, President John F Kennedy was the best President ever. You know who you are that was responsible for this and took all that away from the country. Many, many people loved him. Rest in peace JFK, RFK and John, Jr.

Friday November 22, 1963. I was a 13 years old, an 8th Grade Jr. High Student in Los Angeles. It was one of the worst days of my life, to find our our President had been brutally shot dead while I was in school. I was in gym class and everyone who was in all the gym classes were directed to sit down on the play yard to wait and listen for an annoucement from our Principal over loudspeakers. The effect on the entire student body was horrific, people crying, and teachers totally shocked, normal teaching impossible the rest of the day. My mother always picked me up in our family car from school. As I was walking out of school, I prayed that somehow it had all been a socialogical experiment to see how students would react to such news. When I got to the car I asked my mother if the news was true. That's when I knew for sure that President Kennedy was really dead. It changed history, and has haunted me all the years since. In 2013, at 63 years old I went back to my Junior High to be in the exact spot on the playground where I heard the news 50 years earlier. I'm 71 years old now, still haunted by such a loss.
