Why wouldnt the car be displayed the way people remember it ....without the roof?

The decision to clean, perform modifications on and keep in service critical piece of evidence speaks volumes about the manner in which the investigation into the assassination of President Kennedy was handled.

When JFK used it, it was not black, but midnight blue.

How can they say it was HIS car when in fact HIS car was gutted and stripped down to bare metal and rebuilt.

Why did they take away the original wheel covers and use these instead?

Also interesting is that they have the chair that Abraham Lincoln was siting in at Ford's Theatre when he was killed by John Wilkes Booth when he was watching Our American Cousin.

President Kennedy would be 105 if he was still with us. The most tragic 💔 thing about tragedies is that with a little planning, most tragedies are preventable.

Speaking of the machine itself, you can imagine Mercedes being envious of the prominence and stature this Limo put forth in the early 60’s, before the assassination, even.
Not to be outdone by the Americans, they soon developed and created the 600 Pullman with their first big V8 as an answer to this and help bolster their image.

The original license was “GG300”. The grille was changed. The red lights were originally mounted in the bumper.

I have a postage stamp piece of black leather original upholstery from the back seat of 100-X limo. It has a tiny brown spot on it. My cherished relic of the great President John F. Kennedy.

The bumpers are not the same that the video shows. In fact, the hubcaps are different and I'm sure if I study more, I will see other differences. There's a die-cast available and they match the video seen here, but not the car in the museum. Anyone know why?

yeah, the gutted, rebuilt, cleansed crime seen evidence car. almost like the original. . . sans blood, bullet holes, etc.
