Those early Bolan songs were fantastically quirky and creative. Hippie-dippy but totally captivating and worth revisiting, especially with a nice smoke.

This song is the ultimate example of the Glam Descend. An exemplary piece of tumbling chord style, Bolan goes out on a new limb here that the likes of Eno and Bowie would soon flower upon.

Light all the fires,
It's the King of the Rumbling Spires,
Light all the fires,
It's the King and he's coming home.
We're so windy fair
Priestess of my young soul
Mighty eagles pair On the peace of your hair.
Light all the fires,
It's the King of the Rumbling Spires
Light all the fires,
It's the King and he's coming home.

Saw them in 1970 supported by Vitas Serellis (sitar player) and David Bowie doing a mime act. All introduced by John Peel. I still have the programme. So much better than T. Rex.

I've always loved this song, the electric guitar sound and the Organ coming in towards the end, I think visconti played the organ, pity it wasn't Rick Wakemen❤

one where marc still had to completely ditch his tolkien fantasies. very dark, bass-heavy and stardust- sprinkled.

This blew my tits off the very first time I heard it, and It still does. The last song with Steve Took, too.
