How To Coil Rope - Works great for extension cords too!

This is pretty close to how I was taught to wrap-up and hang ropes when I was a Lineman's apprentice.

Probably not a good idea for extension cords. The weight of the cable puts a lot of stress on one small point where the cable is hung (on a nail or hook). This is a bigger problem with longer (heavier) extension cords, or if they're hung in a vehicle or trailer, or just in a busy work area where they will be subject to jostling.
