I like how you show the knot tying from your prospective. Some youtubers show it from the viewers prospective and it takes me longer to catch on.

Clever—is a nice quick release trick! Your demonstrations are so incredibly clear!!
BTW if you twist each coil by 180 degrees (alternating overhand/underhand loops) from the previous one the line will not kink when uncoiled (even with the short length in the demo, the line has kinking). This works with electrical cables as well. Learned this courtesy of USN.

This must be your favorite knot I see you put many videos on this same knot all the time....I would figure 8 that coil though so it doesn't get tangled up when uncoiling it... that small of a section of rope is fine but not for anything larger.

Excellent Demo! It's not easy to make instructional videos that can actually be followed. You did great

This induces all sorts of kinks in braided rope! Figure-eights instead.

Why coil when you can just half the length until you get it to the half-length you desire then use this nut! That is a good knot! Coiling put twist into ropes and extensions chords for my extension cords I just half them to my desire length and drape them onto a clothes hanger! No twistin the line at all! I do the same thing with a collapsible hose.

Wow, and all these years I've been trying to make squares. Thanks

Lookin' good. Must see if it works for an extension cord.

Great knot. I will use it for my earphone. Thank you.

Very useful trick. Probably more useful than a six foot rope !

Not a good idea. If the coil becomes bigger and heavier, the loop you use to suspend it will open bc the loose end still can slip. Believe me.
Any knot only works within certain parameters like weight, diameter, surface smoothness, torsional rigidity, elasticity etc. etc.

For longer ropes you really should French Coil it prior to locking it off with the slip knot.

Except how the handle isn't really a handle and will come undone. I like to do an extra daisy thread, twist it on itself, then push it back over the last loop. This make a nice handle that won't come undone. I wish to god people knew that at the gym.

Your tie-off was great, but the way you coiled the rope is incorrect. Check out how sound technicians coil their 100 foot cables!! I enjoyed the video regardless, and thanks for providing the viewers with this neat tie-off trick.
