NATO is building a new military base in Romania. The aim is to secure NATO's 'eastern flank'. Over 1,000 troops will be stationed at this base. Palki Sharma reports.

Romania is simply the most logical location for building a new NATO base because of the protection provided by the Carpathian mountains as well as being a logistical connection point for transportation between central European member countries and Balkan and Eastern Mediterranean member countries.

Romania is a member of NATO. We have about 80000 troops of our own. This new 1000 men base isn't a big deal. Romania would need hundreds of thousand of troops to hold the border in case of a Russian attack.
Unlike Russia or Ukraine, we haven't had conscription for 20 years. That means we don't have any reserve troops, except some tens of thousands of former soldiers.

It was reported that Ukrainians used mines to destroy the Russian ship and few mines drifted to Turkish territory..but now the same mine is reported as Russian mine
