It is like we Nigerians are besieged in a way. Everyone complains about our music in their airwaves, yet your airwaves are controlled by your people. Nigerians cannot come to Kenya or any other country and control what happens there. It can only mean that your population loves Nigeria's sound. They can relate to it. We have not committed any crime by doing good music for other's to love. Honestly the complaints is becoming tiring. Pls ponder on these facts:

1. Nigerian artist are always come to Kenya to do promotions. They visit Radio stations, TV stations and Night club's. Sometimes the locals think they're just there for sight seeing. They understand the business of music. I have never seen or heard of a Kenyan artist in Nigeria promoting his work why? Why then are you surprised when our music dominate ur airwaves? Why are your artists being content in just being king in Kenya? You must step out of your comfort zone.

2. All our artist's that come to Kenya to perform are usually brought in by Kenyan promoter's. This is bcos music is business as much as it is equally entertainment. Perhaps they do not have so much confidence that the local artists will make bank for them. It is business.

3. I checked Kenyans Apple music top 40 and there were lots of Nigerian song's on them. It can only means that your population indeed love Naija songs.

4. Even if you play 80/20% in your country it cannot solve the problem. This is the age of the internet. Everyone has a smart phone or some kind of gadget. The internet tells us what to listen to these days, not the radio or tv stations. Infact they also get their playlist from the internet. Therefore it will be foolhardy to say you're limiting airplay. Doesn't work these days.

5. Kenyan artist's don't join the music trend. Go to Nigeria now and you will hear Amapiano diluted with Afrobeat banging everywhere. We go to SA, learn from them and infuse ours and own it..That way you keep your listeners entertained. G

Finally even lots of your people know that your artists need to step up. In this age and time, nobody is going to just listen to your music if it's not up to their taste just bcos you're from same country. You cannot blackmail people to listen to you bcos of nationalism. You must produce something very good to vibe to Kenya or not. I am a Nigerian who support that you must make an effort to encourage your local artists. You must promote your own. But the artist's must remember that it doesn't just end there. Put in the work and promotions required. 👍🏾👍🏾🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬

I'm Kenyan. Am ashamed of the title. We should be promoting Africa. Don't forget Jalas' advise. You're thinking small. Connect with Omah and visit Nigeria instead of negative content pursuit. Travel Africa.

They come to perform because people love them and listen to them, if people do not like listening to them hawangeletwa...quality is what people want...or something that they resonate with

Let's look at it this way, do Kenyan A list artists and C list artists get treated the same??? Its not about nationality but the level of the artist..

How about we support all African music. These type of stuff are embarrassing and making us Africans look bad to the rest of the world!! Nigeria set a good example so let's follow it and promote African music in Africa and work hard on our art & craft!!

People listen to music to feel good or connect with an emotion, you can’t regulate that. Instead Kenyan Artist should work on and master their craft

We don't uplift ourselves by tearing others down. In most of the interviews I have heard from the Nigerian artists visiting us, they are always open to collaborate with our local artists. Instead of this reaction, you should be interviewing them along our local artists too see how best to grow together. Nigerian music is big internationally because of its appeal, quality and content regardless of the language. Same goes for our artists like Sauti Sol, Bensoul who are also breaking ground internationally even with the use of Swahili. We need more visibility internationally but it comes by promoting ourselves on international radio stations, doing tours etc.
