Moved from a TN Dell S2419HGF to an IPS Pixio Px7 Prime and holy what a difference in picture quality!

Wait, he didn’t say anything about ips backlight bleed when it’s probably the single biggest problem that plagues the panel. But says be careful of va panel backlight wtf?

I completely agree. Started with a TN panel because it was cheap and fast response time, but eventually got into creating YouTube videos and noticed horrible banding and colors. Currently have a VA panel for the contrast but notice ghosting especially in dark scenes, but thinking about swapping to IPS for the best color accuracy, viewing angles, and a nice compromise in contrast and gtg response time. Seems TN is best for hardcore gamers, VA is best for movies with dark scenes (if ghosting doesn't bother you), and IPS is best for picture quality/accuracy while being the best middle ground for gamers and content creators. Awesome video!

I had a Asus vg258qr (TN) and I changed to AOC 27G2U (IPS), and I'm loving it. In this 2 monitors the refresh rate (1ms gtg/1ms mprt) is basically unnoticeable. I'm loving the ips panel, it has very good colors and the 144hz are obviously amazing.

144hz IPS for me. The difference in price isn’t that bad in certain monitors and having better colour accuracy is better than a faster response time. I’m transitioning from a laptop 60hz so having a 144hz is already an upgrade. Colours help on spotting details over those high frame rates.

Been using a 5cm thick 24"Full HD ccfl backlit panel for 10 years. now ordered an 43" IPS ... gonna be weird

i just got a ips panel and had a tn before. the colores aside, the ips ghosting looks like complete bullshit lol. i havent saw any on my tn but omg how can you play with ips?? imma send the ips back and buy a tn again.

A high end tn panel beats all other panel types because ips suffer mostly by ips glow and backlight bleed which is most distracting thing i find and va are overly saturated colours and often suffer from black crush but a good tn panel have least issues and i find tn is best suited for all purposes...

Hey, what do you think of having a video talking about 'IPS-level' display in recent gaming laptops (due to the increase of creative production demands that needs to have a color accurate display in their powerful laptops) ? Since there's so little people talking about it and consumers are often getting tricked by it thinking that it is an actual IPS panel.

I use a 144hz VA with an IPS as my secondary monitor. The two are very similar in viewing angles, but the colors on the VA are slightly different and darker. Though not different enough for it to be extremely noticeable or bothering me. I also haven't noticed any of the other problems mentioned with VA Panels. I'm guessing this might be that many VA monitors can be bought from less ideal companies for really cheap, the quality might not be very consistent across all VAs.

There is a big difference between a 1 ms mprt 165 hz VA to a 1 ms gtg 144hz TN monitor? Which is the best for gaming (console and pc)

I'm only going for IPS panels, as I'm not only gaming. I do a little of everything on my computer. IPS vs all the rest is night and day. Can't be compared fairly really.
I do not think having crappy colours and horrible picture quality is worth the "fast response time", which in reality isn't that much of a difference on modern panels anyway.

I think if you are like me and games in a dark room VA is ur best bet. Better contrast really shines.
Personally i will get the odessey g7 for best colors and minimal ghosting.

Can u help me to choose monitor?
Samsung LC24RG50FQU
144hz 4ms VA curved
Or
ASUS VP249QGR
144hz 4ms (1ms mprt or what) IPS

Samsung is 55k and Asus is 60k here (both of them cheap, actually 55k was both but Asus went +5k now)

If you play a lot of single player games with a lot of dark scenes such as the Witcher 3, metro exodus, tomb raider, etc. Definitely look into VA monitor.
IPS will be unplayable for some people who can't stand seeing black as grays.
