I think what causes the negative feedback loop is when someone tells you, "you deserve better" & "its not you its me" and then turns around and puts that effort into someone else. That's hard to deal with or rationalize. Tbh I have no doubt she had someone else in the picture and just activated that person and deactivated him. Its why some can move on so easy and suddenly, its a grim reality.

When someone says ‘…you deserve better…’, it’s them not being able to lift their standards to meet yours, it could be their own subliminal limitations or they’re just lazy and being with someone else is easier and less effort, not necessarily better.

The crazy part in my old situation was he knew he wasn't giving me what I deserved and said "its not fair for you to wait for me" ... still implying in the way that he talked to me that he won't "cut the cord", it was up to me to leave or he was just gonna keep reaping whatever he could full well still knowing he doesn't deserve it (sad)... I totally felt used. It was so hard to leave but I did it. 😫🥳

I said this to a guy once when I was 22 and I have regretted it ever since. But I was honest when I said he deserved better at the time because I was having tremendous anxiety from my anxiety disorder to the point where I wouldn't even answer the phone. I'm 28 now and a lot more mature and healthier, I wish I was still with him but it was truly impossible for me to give him what he needed from me back then.

If I deserve better, why don't they put in all the effort to grow as a human being 🤷🏼‍♀️ I think if they really loved me they would have tried. I don't think it's just that you deserve better but it's also that they are not as committed either.
