Gee, yet another reason that everyone else is fleeing the state in disgust - this place is truly unaffordable. If you get the "FAIR" home insurance policy from the State of Calif you'll spend the rest of your week reading the fine print and wonder why your got insurance in the first place. It ONLY covers parts of the structure itself that were incinerated, no water damage or contents.

Folks rant about housing prices but it's inevitable after so many residents have left that supply will eventually exceed the demand and prices will come down like they did in Detroit🤑. That will lock those still here into staying put because they won't be able to sell their homes for anything close to what they paid for them, or they could just walk away. Get out now while you still can.
